The Mystic Valley Elder Services “Emergency Closet” provides our care managers and other staff who assist our low-income older adults and adults living with disabilities with a place to access new towels, new sheets, new blankets and toiletry items for people who need them immediately. However, our closet needs some donations! Here is an example of someone who was helped by the Mystic Valley Elder Services Emergency Closet this past year:

A 61-year-old man who had been financially exploited by his son became homeless. He was sleeping on a basement floor for several months. Mystic Valley Elder Services helped him locate and move into a studio apartment and provided him with funds for a bed and new sheets, new towels, new blanket and toiletry items.

We are in need of and can only accept very specific donated items for the Mystic Valley Elder Services Emergency Closet. These are the items that are most requested by our workers for their clients. By having them in the agency immediately available it can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
