Since 1975, Mystic Valley Elder Services has partnered with individuals and caregivers across Massachusetts’ Mystic Valley region to ensure that older adults (age 60 and older) and adults with disabilities have the support they need to live the life they choose.
We’ve evolved over time serving Malden and surrounding cites to serving 11 cities and towns with a staff of more than 300 and over 400 volunteers. Today, we are the region’s leader in home and community based services for older adults, adults with disabilities and their caregivers, serving more than 20,000 individuals every year under the guidance of a locally appointed Board of Directors and with active involvement from each of our member communities. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Mystic Valley Elder Services is a federally designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and one of 24 Aging Services Access Points (ASAP) in Massachusetts.
An AAA is an agency designated by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs charged with planning and supporting social services and nutrition services under the Older Americans Act. AAAs grant or contract with public and private organizations to promote services for older adults within a specific service area. An ASAP is a private, non-profit, state-designated agency under contract with the Executive Office of Elder Affairs that provides a single-entry point for older adults to access a variety of programs and services. We are also proud members of Meals on Wheels America and USAging.
In addition to our services for individuals and caregivers, we advocate for the needs of older adults and adults with disabilities in our region. We partner with adults of all ages with disabilities to ensure that you have access to appropriate and effective services and programs. We offer an array of low-cost and no-cost services that support independent living in a community setting. We also offer educational and nutrition programs in senior housing facilities, senior centers and other community settings. Across all of our work, we’re guided by a commitment to help every individual achieve the quality of life they choose in a setting of their choice.
