The Mystic Valley Elder Services Emergency Closet allows our care managers to quickly access new towels, sheets, blankets and toiletry items for low-income clients with urgent needs. These simple items can make a huge difference in an individual’s quality of life. 

Suggested items include:

Toiletries

• Toothpaste
• Soap
• Hand cream
• Hand sanitizer
• Shampoo
• Disposable razors
• Shaving cream

Bedding

• Towels (new)
• Sheets (new – size queen, full or twin)
• Blankets (new)

Nonperishable foods

• Fruit in juice or lite syrup
• Shelf-stable cans or pouches of tuna, chicken or salmon
• Low-sodium soup
• Peanut butter
• Jelly
• Canned pasta (Chef Boyardee,® etc.)
• Mac & cheese
• Individual packages of oatmeal or Cream of Wheat®
• Shelf-stable pudding
• Individual packages of applesauce
• Raisins
• Crackers
• Carnation Instant Breakfast®

Other

• Puzzle books – large print
• Gift cards to local grocery stores, pharmacies
• Postage stamps
• Paper goods – napkins, paper towels, tissues
