Mystic Valley Elder Services is sponsoring a free “My Life, My Health” workshop series at the Stoneham Senior Center, 136 Elm St., starting on Mondays in April. Developed at Stanford University, this six-week series provides practical strategies for adults managing a chronic illness. This free program is designed for anyone living with an ongoing medical condition such as arthritis, asthma, chronic back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, COPD, diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease, high blood pressure, Parkinson ’s disease or stroke.

The six-week series will begin on April 24th and continue weekly through June 5th (with the exception of the Memorial Day holiday on May 29th). Classes will run from 9:30am-12noon. Weekly topics will include managing and controlling pain, handling stress and learning to relax, increasing energy, beginning or improving an exercise program, and eating for your health and wellbeing.
