At a table in a community room are two people seen from profile. Nurse Hailey Heng, right, wears a stethoscope on her ears as she takes the blood pressure of a female patient.

Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) is pleased to introduce the newest member of our Nursing Team, Hailey Heng! As a Registered Nurse, Hailey will be making home visits throughout the communities we serve. She is also making a weekly visit to the Heritage Apartments in Malden, where she checks vital signs and provides help with medications, referrals and more.

“I am so happy to be working at MVES and believe strongly in our mission to support aging adults in our community. I believe our team of nurses plays a vital role in community healthcare, providing information on appropriate services and disease and injury prevention,” Hailey says.

A graduate of the UMass Boston nursing program, Hailey comes to MVES from Mount Auburn Hospital, where she spent several years as in surgical telemetry – a type of nurse that specializes in using technology and instruments to measure a patient’s condition and vital signs.

Hailey is multilingual, speaking Mandarin Chinese and Japanese in addition to English. She is also a certified medical interpreter, which means she is proficient in medical terminology as well as cultural and ethical best practices. With her language skills, MVES is excited to have Hailey as one of our nurses at health fairs and other events where Chinese populations are gathered and translation might be needed.

Hailey’s aim is to support the health and well-being of people in our community and bring her skills, empathy and cultural sensitivity to patient care.

“I knew early on that I wanted to use my nursing skills to work with older adults, so MVES is a great fit for me. MVES takes a very proactive, hands-on approach to the health of our community and I’m so pleased to contribute to their mission,” Hailey explains.
